Back from Chicago Comic-con
Well, conventions are always insane. You think it's crazy trying to get through the crowds and see all the things you want to see? Try having a table in Artist's Alley. From carting all of my stuff in (prints, originals, comics, art supplies, display banner, drinks, food, and on and on) to navigating the Chicagoland highways to dealing with hotel elevators.... But, you know what? I miss it already.
I met a lot of great people this weekend. Did a ton of free sketches. Signed many comic books. Speaking of which, someone showed up at my table with a copy of Payne #1. This is a black and white comic that I wrote and drew in 1995. Holy crap! That was very unexpected. The guy walks up, holds the book out and says "Are you this William Kenney?"
I answered "Wow. Where did you find that?" It was pretty cool, actually.
I signed it for him and we talked for a while.
So, the new Demonwolf comic book went over quite well. Sold and signed many copies for people.
We sold a lot of prints. The most popular by far was the Batman print that we offered. I think we sold about 3 times as many Batman as the others.
I have tons of photos that I will be posting soon. Just have to upload them to the laptop. So, stay tuned. Lots of crazy costumes coming up.

Chicago Comic-con 2009!

Anyone who plans to attend this years Chicago Comic-con is invited to stop by the Elevenstone Studios table in Artists Alley (Table 3728). Come say "Hi" to Frances Wun, Rice Eye and myself. Maybe pick up some Demonwolf comic books? The new Greater than 13 mini-comic by Rice Eye? One of our 11 x 17 art prints? These prints turned out really nice. I'm pretty happy with them. Of course, just like last year, I will be doing commissions for people and most likely some free sketches as well. It all depends how busy it is.
Commissions are always based on the amount of work I have to put into it. A simple head sketch in pencil would probably be around $20.00. If you want something inked, the price will go up. Not sure if I will be doing any color at the show.
I will have a lot of original pieces for sale as well. Some of the original art that I scanned and made the prints from will be there. Some of the penciled pages from my Demonwolf comic will be available. The pages all vary in price but I would say on average they are about $100.00 apiece.
Well, come by and visit us. We will see you there.

Artist's Alley - Chicago Comic-con 2009

What's up? Just got my table assignment for Chicago this year. I will be in Artist's Alley, table number 3728. If you are going to be there, please stop by and check out the new Demonwolf comic book. We will also have several new 11x17 prints available. Some of the images are ones that I have posted here. I will have several pieces of original art and some original pages of Demonwolf art. Want something custom drawn. Commissions are welcomed. Prices will depend on level of detail, number of characters, pencil or ink, etc....Just ask.
I've added a crazy background to my new Joker image. Can you dig it? I knew that you could.
So, things will be crazy here up until the convention. Have to make sure all is in readiness.
We received our display banner from the printer yesterday. It is a vinyl sign, around 8 feet tall with the Demonwolf character on it along with our company logo. I have to say, it looks f'in awesome. I don't think I have ever seen my art that big before. Except for a mural I painted once. But that was just an eagle and flag kinda thing. A patriotic mural that I painted right after the September 11 tragedy.
Anyway, I hope to see and meet lots of people this year. Last year was our first in Artist's Alley and I felt it was very successful. This one's gonna be even better. All of my work is miles above last year's.
Well, until later.
