Watchmen movie and stuff

So, I finally saw the Watchmen movie yesterday. My wife and I went and there were 4 other people in that theater. I guess the movie didn't have much staying power. But, I thought it was awesome. It gave me the same feeling as the comic. Of course, it's dark and dreary and depressing. So was the book. They took out several things and changed a few but over all I have no complaints. The actors were all good. Rorschach steals the show, I think. Although, Nite Owl was really cool, too. There were always some things that I questioned about the story. Rorschach always respected the Comedian because he saw the world as it truly was. But, the Comedian was basically a criminal getting paid by the government. Wouldn't Rorschach want to kill him?
I mean, the Comedian did lots of bad things. Some were during war-time but....ah, who knows?
Anyway, can't wait for the DVD. Rumor is that it will have a lot of extra footage. Supposed to be like 4 and a half hours long. Cool.
Well, gotta go eat something before I perish.
Hurm.

Work in Progress - Part 2

So....here's the next stage in this painting. I've gone in and added the colors to the main character, trying to keep the tones consistent with a Hellish environment. Popping in oranges, yellows and reds. Sometimes this can be difficult. All of the colors are affected by the lighting, so something grey no longer appears grey. Well, still working on it.
In other news...People are complaining that Obama took the time to make his college sports picks. Like he should only spend time fixing the economy. He cannot fix the economy alone. No matter what decisions he makes, he has to go through countless other people to have them instituted. The guy does deserve some time to chill out, right? He inherited this economy. Give him some time.
Anyway, I will post the next stage as soon as I complete it. Going out today with my wife. Have some fun. Go out to eat, maybe see a movie. The weather's getting nicer......

Until next time,
William

Work in Progress

Well, the artwork for the next issue of Demonwolf is finished. The word balloons and graphic elements still have to be added. Shouldn't take too long. But now it's time to decide on a cover. I've been working several possibilities. Loosely sketching different covers directly in Photoshop. Above is one idea I like. I want to put some werewolves attacking him from below as well. We'll see how it turns out. I am also working on the script for the rest of the series. I want to work it all out before I start drawing the next issue.
I'm glad that it's starting to get warmer here now. God, I hate winter.
If you'd like, leave a comment and let me know what you think of the above image so far.
Time for lunch, gotta go.

Hey, I won....Awesome!!!

Well, as I said before, I entered a Watchmen art contest at Star Clipper (A very cool local comic shop). Today, I got a phone call saying I had won the grand prize. Kick ass! I wasn't even going to enter. My wife talked me into it. I guess I will listen to her next time as well. So, I want to say thanks to the people at Star Clipper who voted for me.

Secondly, I haven't seen the Watchmen movie yet. I was researching it to see if I could take my daughter to see it and after talking to a few people.....obviously not. Swinging glowing blue schlong....sex scenes....guess not. Come on, they could've covered the luminescent genitalia. I know that's how the book is, but....

I've heard a lot of good things about the movie. I know the changes they've made and I don't think it will bother me. I would've liked to see the squid-creature though. Oh well....

Watch for the next issue of my comic book, Demonwolf. Coming soon.

Inspired by Watchmen

Well, I haven't seen the movie yet. I have recently re-read the comic series and began drawing some fan art. My favorites were always Rorschach and Nite Owl so of course the first image is of them. I penciled, inked and then scanned this image. The colors were done in Photoshop. I entered this image in a contest at a local comic shop. Maybe I'll win some cool Watchmen stuff....

If you'd like to leave a comment, go for it.

By the way, everything I've heard about the movie so far is good. I'll find out next weekend.
