Work for Charity

These were done for the Treasure Chest of Art, a charity that helps out kids with cancer. I did a total of 20 pieces of art. I hope these help the cause if even in a little way. These will be available at the Chicagoland Entertainment Collectors Expo. Check out the website for more information. I also want to thank Paul Maiellaro for asking me to contribute.

Happy Holidays to everyone. Celebrate safely and have a great new year.

Halloween 2009!

Here we are in our costumes. We always enjoy getting dressed up, acting crazy and scaring the kids that come to the door for candy. We are presently working on the next issue of Demonwolf and I am in the middle of some trading cards for charity. Starting to get cooler here. Not a big fan of winter. Nope.

Back from Chicago Comic-con

Well, conventions are always insane. You think it's crazy trying to get through the crowds and see all the things you want to see? Try having a table in Artist's Alley. From carting all of my stuff in (prints, originals, comics, art supplies, display banner, drinks, food, and on and on) to navigating the Chicagoland highways to dealing with hotel elevators.... But, you know what? I miss it already.
I met a lot of great people this weekend. Did a ton of free sketches. Signed many comic books. Speaking of which, someone showed up at my table with a copy of Payne #1. This is a black and white comic that I wrote and drew in 1995. Holy crap! That was very unexpected. The guy walks up, holds the book out and says "Are you this William Kenney?"
I answered "Wow. Where did you find that?" It was pretty cool, actually.
I signed it for him and we talked for a while.
So, the new Demonwolf comic book went over quite well. Sold and signed many copies for people.
We sold a lot of prints. The most popular by far was the Batman print that we offered. I think we sold about 3 times as many Batman as the others.
I have tons of photos that I will be posting soon. Just have to upload them to the laptop. So, stay tuned. Lots of crazy costumes coming up.

Leaving for Chicago Comic-con later today...

These are some of the pieces that I will have available at the Convention this weekend. Done with black ink and grey markers (plus a little red). If you are going to be there, stop by our table (#3728) and give us lots of money. No, really. Tons of cash. Mostly 20's. Thanks.

Chicago Comic-con 2009!

Anyone who plans to attend this years Chicago Comic-con is invited to stop by the Elevenstone Studios table in Artists Alley (Table 3728). Come say "Hi" to Frances Wun, Rice Eye and myself. Maybe pick up some Demonwolf comic books? The new Greater than 13 mini-comic by Rice Eye? One of our 11 x 17 art prints? These prints turned out really nice. I'm pretty happy with them. Of course, just like last year, I will be doing commissions for people and most likely some free sketches as well. It all depends how busy it is.
Commissions are always based on the amount of work I have to put into it. A simple head sketch in pencil would probably be around $20.00. If you want something inked, the price will go up. Not sure if I will be doing any color at the show.
I will have a lot of original pieces for sale as well. Some of the original art that I scanned and made the prints from will be there. Some of the penciled pages from my Demonwolf comic will be available. The pages all vary in price but I would say on average they are about $100.00 apiece.
Well, come by and visit us. We will see you there.

Artist's Alley - Chicago Comic-con 2009

What's up? Just got my table assignment for Chicago this year. I will be in Artist's Alley, table number 3728. If you are going to be there, please stop by and check out the new Demonwolf comic book. We will also have several new 11x17 prints available. Some of the images are ones that I have posted here. I will have several pieces of original art and some original pages of Demonwolf art. Want something custom drawn. Commissions are welcomed. Prices will depend on level of detail, number of characters, pencil or ink, etc....Just ask.
I've added a crazy background to my new Joker image. Can you dig it? I knew that you could.
So, things will be crazy here up until the convention. Have to make sure all is in readiness.
We received our display banner from the printer yesterday. It is a vinyl sign, around 8 feet tall with the Demonwolf character on it along with our company logo. I have to say, it looks f'in awesome. I don't think I have ever seen my art that big before. Except for a mural I painted once. But that was just an eagle and flag kinda thing. A patriotic mural that I painted right after the September 11 tragedy.
Anyway, I hope to see and meet lots of people this year. Last year was our first in Artist's Alley and I felt it was very successful. This one's gonna be even better. All of my work is miles above last year's.
Well, until later.

Ha haha ahaha hahaha haaa

Elric!

This is Elric from the works of Michael Moorcock. Started as a pencil drawing. Scanned then painted in Photoshop. Always loved the Elric books. Not much Elric fan art on the internet, is there? I've heard that a movie is in the works. We'll see, I guess.
This will be one of the 11 x 17 prints available when I attend this years Chicago Comic-con, August 7-9, 2009. If you are going to be there, stop by my table in Artist Alley and say Hello. Check out Wizard World's Website for more information.
I will also have the newest issue of my comic book, Demonwolf for sale.

Thanks for looking,

Death Dealer

Hey,
I've kinda been in a Frazetta mood lately. There's no way I could ever afford to own an original Frazetta piece. The only alternative is to create my own. I've been wanting to visit the Frazetta museum in Pennsylvania for a while now. When will I get there? Who knows? Anyway, Frazetta has influenced so many artists out there, including myself. There's so much fire and intensity in his art. No one else can do it like he does. We can only try.
If you don't know who Frazetta is, shame on you.

Been creating prints for conventions. Just finished inking this Red Sonja piece. Soon, I will color it with Photoshop and probably color the original by hand as well. I'm also in the middle of a Wonder Woman piece. Nearly finished with the pencils. Trying to redesign her Granny-panties. lol....

A more finished Red Sonja piece

This one will be inked and colored later.

Pencil sketches

Here's a Conan piece I'm working on. Someone bothering him as he drinks his ale. Not a good idea. Someone's about to get split down the middle. Both ways.
Worked up this drawing of Red Sonja for a future finished piece. Later, I will ink and probably color these with Photoshop.

Working on lots of art....again

Hey Doods,
Friday night I was hanging out with my daughter and we were drawing in our sketchbooks. (Yes, she draws very well.) I like the way this Wolverine turned out. What do you think? Chances are I will never draw a Wolverine comic book, but this proves that I could...lol.
Also, stopped at a comic shop today and got the Dark Tower: Gunslinger Born hardcover collection for 4 bucks! It's priced at $25! Kick ass deal. If you haven't seen the art by Jae Lee, you need to check it out. Unbelievable. The spotted blacks are awesome. Love it to death.

Your comments are appreciated.

You know, the original Land of the Lost kicked ass. I remember when I was a kid, watching it on Saturday mornings. The stories were always so cool and the Sleestak scared the crap out of me. Well, this weekend the Scifi Channel played a marathon of the original 3 seasons and man....It felt good to watch it. A lot of the concepts were pretty cool although the effects were quite cheeeeesy. I love it, though. Can't help it.
And that theme song.....Marshall, Will and Holly. On a routine expedition....haha....
So, I kinda hate the fact that the new movie is a goofball comedy. As a kid, this was serious stuff. Now, I just have to find the DVD's of the series.
I like how when the last season started, they had a stand-in for the Dad ( Who had quit over some money dispute or something). All you could see was the back of someone wearing a wig that resembled his hair. Then, whoooosh! He gets sucked into some time portal thingy. Then....what a coincidence...their uncle just happens to be searching for them and ends up where they are....Wow....what are the odds?
Anyway, if you haven't seen the original before, give it a chance. Remember, though, it was made between 1974 and 1976.
And now I'm off to finish singing the theme song. "Met the greatest earthquake ever known....High on the rapids, it struck their tiny raft.....and plunged them down a thousand feet below......to the Land of the Lost-ost-ost........

American damned Idol

Adam should have won. Period. Exclamation Point. More talent. More exciting performances. Better range. I guess we'll see what happens when their CD's hit. Why are people so afraid of others differences? Isn't that what made America great in the first place? Do you want everyone to be cookie cutters of each other? If both Adam and Kris were in concert on the same night, which show would you attend?
Whatever. The whole thing pisses me off.

So, what's up?

Friday, May 15, 2009

So, here is the final version of the Demonwolf cover, I think. Let me know what you think. Any comments are welcomed and appreciated. This will be for the 2nd printing of the Demonwolf Origin Special.
